Rumah Chrestus damaged in fire

Rumah Chrestus, home for abused and orphaned children in Malaysia has suffered severe damage in a fire that broke out on the 29 March. The children are now without a place to live and have lost most of their meagre possessions.

Pastor Eliezer Peter wrote the following:

“On 29 March 2015 at about 11:45pm, our home caught fire. Some areas of our home were damaged by the raging fire. The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department assessed and has deemed our current and only residence unsafe for our beloved children to reside. Thus, we need to repair our home immediately to provide shelter for our children. However, we do not have the financial strength to repair or find new residence for our children as we rely on the public for donations.”

Rumah Chrestus is a home of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Malaysia (ELCM), providing the love and care of Jesus Christ to vulnerable children. In this time of great need, you are invited to join together with others in sharing Jesus love with the ELCM and help to pay for the temporary accommodation, and the restoration of the fire damaged home. Rumah Chrestus are in need of approximately 30,000 Malaysian Ringgit (approximately $10,700 AUD).

Your gift of love will be sent from the LCA to the ELCM for support in this critical time.
