LCA International Mission is a department of the Lutheran Church of Australia tasked with the responsibility of supporting overseas partner churches in their local mission and ministry. We walk alongside our partner churches in order to encourage, support and resource local people as they bear witness to the hope they have in Christ. We also seek to listen to and learn from our partners so that the mission and ministry of the LCA may be enhanced through the experience and wisdom of our partners.

INVITE A SPEAKER

LCA International Mission staff and volunteers are available to speak at your congregation, school, conference, event, group or meeting, to share from the wealth of their personal experiences about the work of LCA International Mission and the partnerships shared in Australia, New Zealand and overseas.

Their stories will inform, inspire and invite you to partner in various ways in the mission of Jesus Christ in this world, in and through the Lutheran Church of Australia and in partnership with others.

God is doing amazing things through the LCA International Mission and our overseas partners and these stories will motivate, educate and inspire you into action. Our speakers are keen to share exciting stories from first-hand interaction with our mission partners.

We look forward to sharing these stories with you and helping you to see what’s possible in the service of Jesus Christ, in his mission in the world.

BEQUESTS

Your bequest is the gift that keeps on giving. Long after you’ve gone, your legacy will continue to grow in love – just like the gift of forgiveness and rebirth, bequeathed to us in baptism by God through Jesus Christ. When you leave a bequest to LCA International Mission, you are helping us to continue our work as we all become partners in sharing the gospel. You are helping to grow our mission partnerships in order to continue to follow our Lord in his mission to make disciples of all nations.

Leaving a bequest is one of the most personal and precious gifts you can ever give, so we understand if you would like to talk about it with us first.

BIRTHING KITS

The Birthing Kit program has been supported by the Lutheran Women of Australia for many years and continues to be supported with great interest. Back in 2003, Sister Margaret Voigt who was a missionary in Papua New Guinea (PNG) for many years, presented an idea to the Lutheran Women at their General Synod of supplying birthing kits to the village birth attendants. The Lutheran Women where very interested in helping in this way and since then thousands of kits have been made and sent to PNG. The birthing kits are shipped from the Lutheran Church of Australia’s National Office to Lae. The Overseas Affairs Office clears the supplies from customs and then sends them onto Lutheran Health Services and they then send them out to various places where Lutheran Health Services work. The kits are for the use of the village midwives when they attend deliveries but are also used in Aid Posts and small Health Centres where they lack a good labour ward.
